Teachers should preferably live and work in the region (utilize the current talent pool). Teachers who live and were educated in the Netherlands but have roots in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom and Suriname should also preferably be part of the region’s current talent pool.
Students are motivated professionals who are already actively engaged in society and aspire to be pioneers.
Talent remains a criterion for admission because it generates and ensures quality and serves as recognition of the art teacher’s expertise
Open education
In addition to the curriculum, the program focuses on “OPEN EDUCATION”: standalone, demand-driven modules (e.g., light & sound, creative production, citizenship, fair practice) that are accessible to the community.
In this way, the program increases its social impact and contributes to rapid capacity building on the islands and in Suriname.
